Autumn decoration ... Herbst Dekoration

As planned in my last post today during my morning tour of running I found time to collect leaves of maples and planes. The first is a lot softer as the latter and they come in so many different colours at the moment - wonderful!



Inspired by the Autumn decoration article in Brigitte I crafted a leave ring. As I didn't have straw ring, I made one of steel wire and fixed the leaves around it with thinner wire. Actually it is less difficult as it seems.



The final result hangs now at my Jugendstil handle of the French window door. Honestly - I'm proud :-) - not so much of the ring itself but of the fact that I made something by myself again.

Wie in meinem letzten Post geplant, habe ich es heute während meiner morgentlichen Laufstrecke geschafft, Ahorn- und Platanen-Blätter zu sammeln. Die ersteren sind viel weicher als die letzteren und man findet sie im Moment in allen möglichen Farbschattierungen - wunderbar!

Inspiriert vom Beitrag in der Brigitte über Herbst-Dekoration habe ich einen Laubring gemacht. Ohne Strohring habe ich einen aus Stahldraht und befestigte die Blätter rundherum mit dünnerem Stahldraht (Danke, Resi!). Es ist sogar einfacher als es auf den ersten Blick erscheint.



Das Ergebnis hängt nun am Jugendstil-Griff meiner französischen Fenstertür. Ehrlich gesagt - ich bin sehr stolz :-) - nicht so sehr auf den Laubring selbst, sondern dass ich mal wieder etwas selbst gemacht habe.

My lovely apartment in autumn

One of my big project at the moment is my apartment. Since I moved here a little bit more than 3 years ago I just love the space, the high ceilings, the warm atmosphere of the place. It's my peaceful retreat in my busy life.

As every year in October / November I have planned and implemented some changes and bought new additions. They are just wonderful! And the best is yet to come: my new sofa in the study. Of course as soon as it will arrive here, I'll share the pictures with you.

Finally, thanks to my wonderful Mama, I found new lamps - called "Slim Sophie" :-) - modern, spacious and high enough. The label is quite funnily called frauMaier.com

I complement the new atmosphere in my living room with autumn flower arrangements. I put my floor vases on the shelf and mixed together maple leaves and lilies. I've never thought about autumn greenery as flowers but they really look interesting.

The magazine "Brigitte" put in some nice ideas how to use leaves for decoration in there last edition. Last weekend I made my first "leave bouquet". If I find time and there are still enough maple leaves in good shape left tomorrow, I'll try the leave ring.

Eines meiner aktuell großen Projekt ist meine Wohnung. Seit ich hier vor ein wenig mehr als 3 Jahren eingezogen bin, liebe ich den Platz, die hohen Decken, die warme Atmosphäre. Es it mein Rückzugsort in meinem hektischen Leben.

Wie jedes Jahr im Oktober / November habe ich einige Veränderungen geplant und umgesetzt und einige neue Ergänzungen gekauft. Sie sind einfach wunderbar! Und das Beste kommt noch: mein neues Sofa fürs Arbeitszimmer. Natürlich werde ich, sobald es eingetroffen ist, ein Foto davon mit Euch teilen.

Endlich habe ich, dank meiner Mama, neue Lampen gefunden - sie heißen "Dünne Sophie" :-) - sind modern, luftig und hoch genug. Die Marke heißt lustigerweise frauMaier.com

Herbstblumen-Arrangements vervollständigen die neue Atmosphäre im Wohnzimmer: Ich habe die Bodenvasen auf das Regal gestellt und Ahornzweige mit Lilien gemischt. Vorher habe ich noch nie über Laub als Blumen nachgedacht, aber es sieht richtig gut aus.

Die Zeitschrift "Brigitte" hat noch mehr Ideen in ihrer letzten Ausgabe, wie man Laubblätter als Dekoration nutzen kann. Letztes Wochenende habe ich meinen ersten "Laubstrauß" gebunden. Wenn morgen genügend Zeit bleibt und ich noch gute Blätter finde, werde ich mich am Laub-Ring versuchen.
